Ethnographic Film Project

Welcome to ethnographic work contributing to the success and efflorescence of music, media and film production, and the entailments of that success for communities across mountain ranges. Finding already how Goddess worship has made its way into Chirripó within a locale, I aim to study and document this natural Shakti transmission by organizing a motion picture production.

Film Portion Plan

1

The Inspiration

This section of the film offers a background story of human filmmaker and canine companion.

Because of the birds, the two became aware of the layers of transmigration within tree canopies.

The original story was written on the experience of a priestess receiving a new mission from above.

The two recorded an original performance of lovely actors, who deserve to be recognized for their craft.

2

The Performance

With SFFS crew, this section of the film was originally filmed in the Bay Area.

A recent thematic vision has brought forth the idea to (re)master the plot-line of the performance, and then include a threading of similar stories or representations.

The original film focuses on the return of a brass telescope to a boy, after his mother had crossed-over.

The portion spins into darkness as the boy glances into the telescope.

3

The Documentary

This section of the film reveals an experience after it all.

By noticing the plot of a someone receiving a gift from a dead loved one, this sacred gift could also be represented by a radio or synth.

For the most part, this portion of the film is still in pre-production.

The key is to capture the occurrence after the consciousness of the main character leaves modern Earth and arrives within the essence of a loving home or sense of belonging.

Environmental Significance

The local significance of this work mainly includes musicians who reside in and tend the land of Chirripó mountain. Another local community is hopefully at least 1 religious congregation amongst 18 congregations within the area of Rivas, San Jośe, Costa Rica.

The significance for me is having a focus, while Chirripó mountain and Śākta sacred texts have come to reveal to me my lifelong dream and vision to love and cherish. The main contribution of this capstone is (from/to) MahaKalī, upon her embodiment and blessings, and by tuning in with her wisdom we pay respect for Sanātan Dharma. While recognizing Hindu Studies through Śākta theology, I sense my role as an author is to be apart of the contemporary conversation within the field of ontology.

The final aim is to complete this project with and through Śākta methodology that includes anthropology via fieldwork and acoustemology. Through an experimental ethnographic media lab, meant to eventually lend to an established music studio, the ultimatum is imbibing transmission with traditional radio programming in service for locals.

Sacred Text

Moving beyond a sacred textual analysis, away from interpretation, and into a sacred textual synthesis and perspective awareness upon contemplative science

By studying the Devī Mahatmyam while creating a motion picture based on a collaborative album by musicians and artists of the mountain, my goal is to establish an experimental ethnographic media lab that may continue holding space for local creations. This textual synthesis is meant to activate space for a studio to produce local projects and to encourage Śākta methodology, through the success of my working cross-disciplinary method. The significance of this work within the discipline of anthropology and theology is revealing a conversation that naturally occurs between disciplines, through cosmology and musicology, for the sake of all.
